General Information
Arrival and warm , cordial reception by our tour guide/driver.
In case of arrivals late in the evening, we transfer you to a nearby hotel in NEGOMBO for dinner and rest. Otherwise we leave directly for the city of DAMBULLA in order to visit the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka.

In the afternoon visiting the Rock Cave Temple located at a higher elevation.
Here you may find around 40 Buddhist statues enshrined in a cave with natural
paintings.Explanations by an expert on the site.

After breakfast heading for the city ofANURADHAPURA.
En-route we will visit the highest Buddhist Statue in standing posturecarved out of a rock at AUKANA, a masterpiece of ancient sculptors.

Visiting MIHINTALE, the place where Buddhism was introduced into Sri Lanka by an Indian missionary.
Visiting all other attractionsin the city of ANURADHAPURA , temples, Buddhist ruins and Dagobas followed by lunch break.

After breakfast you will visitPOLONNARUWA the largest archaeological site in Sri Lanka.
This is an interesting bicycle tour, the site being an open one.

Afterwards, you will visit a handicraft factorywhere every production process is done manually and observe an enormous collection of high quality handicrafts.
Lunch.
Evening visit toHABARANAvillage to participate in an intercultural event. The villagers will offer you a canoe ride , a ride in a bullock cart followed by the offerings of typical local fast food and typical beverages.

After breakfast visiting theSIGIRIYA Rock Fortress – a Unesco World Heritage Site.
An ancient Royal Palace built on the summit of a Rock at an elevation of about 200 meters.
Here you will find the ruins of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, other structures including a natural swimming pool.
Refreshments after descending the rock.
If interested you may do a ride on an elephant here (supplementary activity)
After a brief rest we direct towards the beautiful city of KANDY, an important city from cultural
social , religious and historical points of view.
En-route Kandy visiting a large spice gardenwhere you may observe all the plants of oriental spices and many herbal plants used in Ayurvedic medicine.
A brief walk around the city just to have an idea.

After breakfast visiting the largestBotanical Garden in Sri Lanka. Here you may admire an enormous collection of plants and flowers including a very beautiful Orchid Garden.

Visiting the Elephant Orphanage atPINNAWELA. You may observe a large herd of around 80 small and big elephants being conducted by mahouts to a nearby river for bathing. Elephants are seen enjoying the bath joking with one another and splashing water, a nice scene not to miss. You may also hand feed things like banana with the authority of mahouts.

Visiting the most sacred Temple of Tooth Relics visited by many tourists.
Attending the cultural dancing show and performance show.

After early breakfast visiting a Museum of Gems where you will be able to watch a video to see how miners get valuable stones out of the earth risking their own lives.
Subsequently you may go through an enormous exposition of gems and jewelries.
Heading forNUWARA ELIYA, the highest city of Sri Lanka at an elevation of 2.400 metres enjoying the hill country panoramas, valleys and water falls, vast tea plantations either side of the road.

En-route visiting a largeTea Factory to observe the production process. Here you may taste a good cup of tea and buy different types of tea in different flavours.

Arriving atNUWARA ELIYAand sightseeing tour. Here you will observe Golf grounds, Victoria Park, Gregory Lake and buildings with English architecture, this city being discovered and developed by British Governors.

After breakfast making an interesting train journey from NANUOYA Railway station to ELLA Railway station during which you may admire the beauty of highlands, valleys, lush tea and vegetable plantations , farmers very closely as the train climbs and goes through these mountains very slowly.
Note – This event is executable depending on the types of trains available.
Otherwise the same route will be covered by the vehicle.
We may begin descending gradually enjoying the panorama from a high elevation.

Early morning at 05.00 Hrs. we will visit theBUNDALA/YALA National park to do a jeep safari.
If you are a bird watcher we suggest you Bundala as over 190 different species of migrant birds visit and inhabit the water lands of Bundala. Besides there are lots of other wild animals too like, wild boars , buffaloes, elephants, spotted deer, crocodiles, turtles etc. Instead if you select Yala there are many wild animals described above except migrant birds as in Bundala. This visit lasts around 4-5 hours. (Take away breakfast packets will be provided)
Leaving for southern coast for your beach holiday.
Tasting of Curd & Trickle a favourite srilankan food made of condensed milk of buffaloes.

In case of arrivals between November and April you will spend your beach holiday in the Southern Coast. In case of arrivals between April and October we arrange your beach holiday at North East Coast at TRINCOMALEE or BATTICALOA where you will enjoy calm sea.
